Matt Hopper is a photographer and musician who travels consistently in the Western United States. He was born in Phoenix, AZ and raised in Wasilla, AK. He earned a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the Univesity of Alaska, Anchorage. He was employed by KRUA 88.1 FM and KNBA 90.3 FM as a music director and station manager. He also wrote a music column and concert reviews for Anchorage Daily News and Anchorage Press. In 2003 he committed to a career in music releasing two albums with The Roman Candles and going on a west coast tour with Anatomy of a Ghost (members of Portugal. The Man). Hopper has crisscrossed The United States of America and most of Western Europe writing and recording the albums The Gold Rush E.P. (2003), Reverse Odyssey (2006), Jersey Finger (2010), High Hopes (2012), Husky (2012), Grand Ole Hopry (2015). The Head & The Heart covered his song "False Alarm" on Signs of Light (Warner Bros). Touring stints with Cold War Kids, Cameron McGill, Kate Earl, Freddie Stevenson, The Waterboys, Drew Grow, The Devil Whale, Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, Long Live Logos, The Head & The Heart and many more. He is currently working on multiple new albums and will potentially release new music in 2018. As a photographer & videographer, his passion is documenting moments in time including (but not limited to): live concert and musical / artist releated photography.
